June 10 to 15, 2012: RESDAC Annual Forum and 21st General Meeting

As in previous years, we are pleased to invite you to participate in the Réseau pour le développement de l’alphabétisme et des compétences Annual Forum to be held at the Maison du citoyen in Gatineau. The theme for 2012 is: Learning Communities, United to Develop Literacy!

RESDAC and its partners, Canadian Literacy and Learning Network (CLLN) and The Centre for Literacy, also invite you to attend a two day workshop to be held just prior to the Forum from June 10th to 12th. This workshop, offered in both official languages, will deal with an innovative approach to learning: place-based learning communities.

  • Beginning in the evening of June 10th and finishing at noon on June 12th: a workshop on place-based learning communities, led by Ron Faris, professor at the University of Victoria and a recognized expert in Canada;
  • From June 12th at 4 p.m. to June 14th at 5 p.m.: a Forum, held in French, based on the same theme, with practical workshops emphasizing the principles outlined during the Forum. In addition, there will be an area to discover experiences of cities and communities presently experimenting with this concept;
  • June 15th: Annual General Meeting held in the morning for our members. Observers are welcome.

We are looking forward to count you among our many participants. We are confident that during these five days, this unusual setting and the new added features will no doubt be inspiring you to share your thoughts and ideas.

The registration deadline has been postponed to May 25 for the workshop and May 28 for the Forum, thank you for respecting it.
